That’s me on the left. I’m a flutist, performer, teacher and family man. I’ve spent a fair amount of time on stage, traveling, swimming, meditating, and playing baseball with my son. I’ll be posting my performances, photos and discography soon… and coming up with a more pithy bio too, so stay tuned!

There’s a little more info below.

A LITTLE MORE INFO…

John Ragusa has been called “One of today’s finest improvisational flutists” by the legendary Paul Horn. John is known for passionate performances on a range of instruments, from traditional western flutes - bass, alto, concert and piccolo - to unique wood flutes, pennywhistles, harmonica, jews harp, pocket trumpet, the didgeridoo, and the conch shell.

John performs an original and compelling mix of jazz, roots, blues, latin, and world music in New York City and around the world. Along side his favorite bluesman, Hugh Pool, John is one half of the award-winning duo, Mulebone, and is a member of the Grammy winning band The Alison Brown Quintet. He has been featured in concert and on recordings with the acclaimed Nashville singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman for over 20 years and performs regularly with the duo “Riverrun” alongside Grammy Nominated pianist and Spyro Gyra co-founder, Jeremy Wall. John has been a featured accompanist of author and poet Deepak Chopra and has been a featured performer with the Buglisi Dance Theatre 9/11 memorial “Table of Silence” at Lincoln Center since its inception.
